Districts & Regions

Special Olympics Ontario is divided into smaller geographical areas for the purposes of administration and competition.

Districts are the administrative areas within the province that focus on strategic program and community development. Districts are supported by District Developers who are stationed across the province.  For the purposes of competition the province is also divided into competitive regions.  These regions are soley for the purposes of provincial competition management.  Due to changes in population growth patterns over the years and in order to serve our volunteers and athletes more effectively... Communities in some Regions are sometimes managed by a different administrative district.
